Windows Update won't stop checking
« on: January 15, 2016, 05:58:59 PM »
This week I ran a clean install of Windows 7 to make a fresh start. After downloading and installing Windows 7 SP1 through Windows Update, downloads stayed stuck at 0%, now the system keeps "checking for updates." I have tried stopping the service which was access denied, deleting SoftwareDistribution folders, etc. What should I try now in order to get updates running smoothly again? Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

I think I figured it out. Was missing something very simple when trying to run command prompt- run as administration  Created a new software distribution folder as well as installed CleanMem, so hopefully that will fix some things.
