Author Topic: New Comcast gateway modem can't connect to Lorex DVR using my smartphone  (Read 11663 times)

Okay here I go again. I had to get a new modem from Comcast it has the WiFi built in. Before that as you know I was using an Ampedwireless modem to connect to my DVR. I connected the Lorex Dvr direct to the new modem and using my lorex address with :8080 I can open it up again online using IE tab. However I can not see my cameras using my smartphone app Lorex ECO Stratus at home or at the office. I have tried the lorex address as well as the IP address with the :8080 and nothing works. I am able to get to the internet and my comcast emails after entering the new pass code to get to the new gateway modem. but can not see my cameras.

 Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you setup the port forwarding rules into the new modem to allow it through? If not have you made sure UPnP is enabled in the new modem?

UPnP is auto port forwarding and your DVR should support it, just have to make sure UPnP is enabled in the modem.

No I did not because the modem setup automatically and I did even get and admin password I may have to call comcast

Shane I was able to get the user name and pass through a chat with Comcast and as soon as I enable your suggestion it came right up on my smartphone thanks man you are a life safer!
