simple port error
« on: May 03, 2015, 12:55:44 AM »
I have this error appear then vanish when running test.

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/pcwintechadmin1979/pcwintech.com/port_test2.php:22) in /home/pcwintechadmin1979/pcwintech.com/port_test2.php on line 4

Have set up port forwarding for 6881 ( or any other for testing) and my computer IP is static 192.168.1.5
on a Brightbox 2 router.
I have tested port forwarding with my laptop which is static IP 192.168.1.4 and this will open ok and receive from your good self.
Have changed the static IP on desktop to another one for testing but will not open ?
All the best

Thanks, I got that bug fixed :-)

As for the testing, Post 2 screen shots for me.

1. A screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router
2. A screen shot of the results of my port tester program.

Lets go from there

I decided after to remove my laptop from portforwarding - because I only wanted the desktop to work.
So the pics show that all is now OK - 192.168.1.5 started working with the old port tester and the pic is from the new port tester from the link in your answer.
I could try other port tests for my laptop and desktop but I will leave it at the moment - using 6881 to connect in flight simulator to emulate a shared cockpit. I complained to my ISP and they decided to send me a new router (not arr yet).
All the best - very interesting site you have and thanks for help - now and maybe in the future.

The port is open, as you can see my port tester shows the port is open :-)

The reason I have you use the program and not the web page is on the tester page
Quote
Most online port testers fail no matter what if nothing accepts their connection attempt. This port tester program will open the port on the system it is running on and listen for a connection from this site. So when the port tester program says the ports are open you can count that they are :-)

So port forwarding is working.
