Device Errors?
« on: March 25, 2015, 08:05:37 AM »
Had a real problem bringing up my laptop today. Looking at logs I see a lot of resource contention information logs. However the error logs all seem to point to an i/o device error. See attached snipit. Also, I got a "Windows was unable to attach to System Event Notification Service". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i/o device is your hard drive, it can be a cd rom drive or an external drive as well as they are i/o devices. But because windows wasnt starting right it is most likly your hard drive, time to replace it.

With that in mind can you tell me how to export/import my bookmarks (FF/CometBird). I exported them (Toshiba) then stuck them in the Dropbox. Went to the target system (Dell) opened Dropbox and viewed the bookmarks. They look good. Opened up bookmarks menu and told it to import bookmarks, pointed to the correct file. However, when I then open bookmarks it is still the previous bookmarks for that system not the ones that were supposedly just imported. Then I recycled CometBird (Closed and opened). No change. What am I missing here?

When you import bookmarks they get put into a sub folder in the bookmarks. So you have to go to show all book marks and then move the ones that where imported over to the main list.
