problem with port forwarding on dir-601
« on: January 08, 2015, 11:09:11 AM »
Hi I need to port forward 27015 to play left 4 dead 2 with my friend but the simple port tester shows that the port is closed.
Here's what I did.
1 simply port forwarded it .
2 checked if I had 1 routers with the program you suggested in the FAQ showed 1 .
3 opened all ports in windows firewall(both inbound and outbound) and lowered the firewall settings in dlink to the minimum.
4 tried making a virtual server instead.
5 tried DMZ.

Lets still double check that you are not behind another router or 2nd network from your ISP.

In the router find the page that shows the WAN IP it has, does it match the IP on this page?

My program to see if there is more than one router does a simple trace route and looks at the first few IPs. Some D-link routers dont respond to the trace route so the program doesnt see it. Thats why it only showed 1
