Comtrend - WAP-5813n TCP open, UDP won't budge
« on: December 30, 2014, 10:42:13 AM »
Hello, problem is that i need both UDP and TCP ports open, but only TCP get's opened, and even if some people blame the internet provider, i don't wanna do any bussines with them unless it's the last option. The costumer service is s***, i'd rather just give my computer to a random hacker to open the ports, instead of ask help from them.

UDP is normally blocked by your firewall software. I have seen it a number of times where that is the case. ISP's normally dont block UDP ports, if they do block any ports it is normally just TCP.

For Shane (or other helpers) to help you, it would help to know the name of the software firewall and as need be download and use Detect Possible Firewalls from http://www.pcwintech.com/shanes-toolbox

Try disabling your firewall all together first and see if UDP is open then go from there

Do you have a 2nd computer you can do a test port forwarding to? That way I can tell if the problem is in the router or your system

Try another system and do a test port forwarding rule to it and let me know the results.
