Did you make sure your firewall software simply isnt blocking the games?

The one way you can know for sure if it is something with comcast or the modem/router is to try your system on a different internet connection. I am not sure if that is possible for you to do, but if you have a friends house you could take your system to to plug in and test it would be the faster answer to if the problem is your machine or not. Otherwise we could spend a ton of time trying to fix your system when it isnt the problem

The Only other thing I can try to connect to is the office hotspot. Ill try and see if that works. Everything over at these apartments are through Comcast so I guess This will help figure it out like you said.

Ok. change in plans :l. For some weird reason the hotspot isnt working. So I cant check if its the router, my computer, or comcast. Although I think it might be Comcast since my computer has never done this before but we are using a new router comcast gave us.

Hard to tell if the problem is your system or the router without doing that test.

How about someone else bringing their machine over to you and seeing if it works fine for them?

So say you have a friend who has a laptop he games on and he can see servers fine. Have him bring his system over and get on your internet and see if he gets the same problems as you. That would also give us the same answer we are looking for as well

 Apparently it was a router issue, I ended up calling customer support. The guy that helped opened up a bunch of ports to make steam work and 25565 to make minecraft work. But now I cant run my minecraft server. God I have problems.

Make sure that both java and minecraft are allowed through your firewall, a lot of people miss that java has to be allowed through it as well
