Invalid IP Address
« on: April 29, 2014, 01:00:23 AM »
Hey Shane,

I've tried to forward my ports on a browser and on your program. None of them are working properly. I have the Cisco DPC3825 router. I read online that you need to have a static IP. So I downloaded your static IP maker thing. Even though I used the static IP, it still tells me that I have inputted an invalid IP address. I even used a number such as 192.168.1.250 and that still didnt work. I've been trying to figure out what to do for several hours but I can't find an answer. Please help

Here are 3 pictures. The first one includes the static IP address maker. The second one is me adding the port I want to forward. The third one is the error I get when I let the program do its thing.

Looks like you are behind 2 routers bud.

The router you are trying to do a port forwarding rule to is 192.168.0.1 but your computers IP is on a different IP range 192.168.1 so you get that error.

Your other router login should be 192.168.1.1

Well then, I guess it was just late at night or I was just frustrated because I didn't even see that it said "Multiple routers detected" haha. I went on the website for my other router (Asus RT-N66U) and it worked perfectly. At first it wasn't working in your program so I just did it from the browser. But when I restarted your program again it worked just fine. I will definitely recommend this site if anyone needs help with forwarding their ports. Thanks for the help!
