Some routers use a name like that to easily allow a user to get to the router, does it send you to a different page or do you still get the belkin info?

Post a screen shot for me :-)

Hi
Here's a screenshot. Belkin say that it's not a website endorsed by them. I've run heaps of antispyware programs and come up clean? I was trying to set up port forwarding on my new router, as my peer to peer program could not reach the internet

Thanks again for your help.

Ok, this is what you need to do.

#1 Let give to an example of how to check the IPv4 Address and Default Gateway (called Router on a Mac, so I heard/read) of your computer.

Note: This example assumes that you are on Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8.

a) Press the Windows Start key to open the Start screen.

b) Type cmd and press Enter to launch the command prompt.

Note: You do not need to click on anything on the Start screen—typing will automatically initiate a program search.

c) Type ipconfig /all at the command prompt to check the network card settings.

#2 If on your computer you see the same IP Address that you see at http://www.pcwintech.com/myip then you are not NATTED.

#3 If you are NATTED and if going to Default Gateway with your web browser did not take you to your belkin router, then please post.

#4 Note: If not on Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 and you need help finding out the IP Address & Default Gateway on your computer - then it would help to know the OS and Version of your computer.

You said it goes to that page when you open "belkin router monitor" what is that? I have never heard of it as routers dont need any kind of monitors normally.

Also it would be a good idea to scan your system with malwarebytes anti rootkit and tdsskiller.exe just to make sure your system is clean

While I agree with you Shane on that, if you would of used Google to lookup belkin router monitor - not including any ads you would of noticed

Which answers your question

"Belkin Router Manager" is what it is, the word monitor threw me off because there isnt anything to monitor normally besides logs in a router, now manager on the other hand is different :-)

But no matter what, unless it is a bug int he manager program they are using or there is an infection on the machine.

Does anything else redirect you to a different site or only that program?

Hi again

Malwarebytes anti rootkit found 2 malware programs - post info when I get home from college. Thanks heaps for your time and help - I'm sure there's lots of other things you would like to be doing with your day.

I'll let you know what the router monitor is doing now too. Hopefully it's been fixed. No other programs were being redirected that I know of.
