router not listed and other issues
« on: September 20, 2013, 03:50:00 AM »
Having resolved my issues with using a phone as a modem; I now wanted to get uTorrent up and running properly.
Simple Port Forward doesn't have the router I use - a Dray Tek 2820vn
to further complicate this, the router connects to the internet via our ZTE USB 4G modem. Which works really well.
Except uTorrent says ports are not forwarded properly
When I run the simple port tester it says ports not open. With Windows 8 firewall turned off.
Simple Port Forwarding doesn't list my router.
And does the ZTE USB modem add issues?
Router is updated with latest software.
Interesting - I have had the system working before, some weeks ago ???
And I use Google Chrome as browser
So - I'm a bit confused ?

A lot of times when using a cell internet modem like ZTE USB 4G modem they will have you behind a 2nd network on their end which will keep port forwarding from working.

You can find out by logging into the modem and find what WAN IP it has, if you are not behind a 2nd network then your IP on that page should match the one on this page

The ZTE USB 4G modem has very little to access; there are very limited boxes you can access
Unless you know any tricks or back-doors?

Sorry I dont. Every router is different and I have never used that model.
