Port Forwarding for a Pace 5031NV-030 - Lorex
« on: August 05, 2013, 07:33:52 PM »
I recently changed ISP companies and had a combination router/modem installed.  The drop down menu does not have the router listed but I did try two other 2Wire routers to see if their definitions would work.  I did not get an error message and I actually got a complete/done status.  When I try to use remote viewing it is not available and the Lorex DVR gives me a 'failed' message when I try to execute the DDNS function.  How can I fix this?
Thanks

The pace 2wire modems dont play nice with static IPs, so make sure the lorex doesnt have a static IP.

And make sure the rules where applied to the device name (In this case it will show up as unknown and then numbers and letters, its mac address)

Can you post a screen shot of the page showing what device the rules where added to?

Thanks for the information Shane.  I have tried using dynamic IPs before and when there is a power failure, the remote viewer becomes unavailable so the support from Lorex suggested that I changed to static IP and when I did, I had no more problems.  If this is the only reason that I cannot get the port forwarding to work, I will revert to my old service because not having the remote viewer is not an option.

I will send a screenshot of the changes.

It is a bug in the 2wire/pace modems. Port forwarding doesnt work to static IPs. It wants to forward by device name, so even if the local IP changes the port forwarding still works.

Your last ISP didnt do that and had port forwarding the normal way, by local IP, which if it changes make the rule no longer work since it points to the wrong IP.

I guess 2wires answer to that was to forward to device name instead, but they never fixed the bug of forwarding to a static IP.

I also have the Pace 5031NV-030 modem/router from AT&T and tried all the 2Wire and Pace profiles without any success (albeit the program says installation successful).
Has anyone had any success getting this modem to work with the Lorex NVR?

I've sent in the Screen Capture files hoping for a config file

Please start a new thread :-)

I will be going over routers later today that have been uploaded. Pace is 2wire. So the 2wire ones in the program may work for you till I take a look at yours.
