Hi Shane

would it be possible to get a little advice on the following

I have a belkin router and have connected a DVR i have fixed the IP address for the DVR

i am able to see both ports from (canyouseeme.org)
i can also view the camera from the internet and from a friends computer

my problem is the IP address changes and i am wondering

1..do i need a fixed IP address for this if so how do i do this

2.. can i fix an IP address from the router so i can view the DVR remotely

i also wish to connect my i phone to view this and currently unable to do so

any help would be most appreciated

You can just go to the network setup in the DVR and give it a static IP.

As for your internet IP it will keep changing unless you buy a static internet IP from your ISP. But instead of doing that you just use the DDNS service that the DVR gives you. It is simple a name that points to your internet IP. And when the internet IP changes the name gets updated to the new IP.
