Minecraft Port Forwarding Issue
« on: July 03, 2013, 05:20:56 PM »
I am having problems creating a multiplayer server.  I can join the server through "localhost" but others cannot join through my external ip.  I had a server running in the middle of June when I had a Verizon Fios MI424WR Router.  I am currently using a Comcast Xfinity (SMC SMCD3GNV) router.  The port forwarding screen looks like this.

I assumed that it works.

When I use a port checker such as
http://www.yougetsig...ols/open-ports/ or http://www.canyouseeme.org/
to port 25565 I am told

Port 25565 is closed on x.x.x.x.

and

Error: I could not see your service on x.x.x.x on port (25565)
Reason: No route to host

I have tried disabling the firewall on Xfinity, Windows and my antivirus software (Kaspersky) - Or I think that I have
I don't see why the Windows firewall or the Kaspersky firewall would affect the server since It did not affect my server when I had the Verizon Fios router.  All that has changed was the router.  My Ip is also static though http://portforward.com/'s static ip software.  All guides I found on the internet have been the exact same thing that I have done already with no results

I have also tried the Simple Port Forwarding software without any results.

If you need any more information, ask me.  I have no idea how to fix the problem so I hope that you guys know how to fix it.

(I'm not much of a computer guy so try to speak in terms that I will be able to understand)

Thanks for helping

The ports are open :-)

The TCP says failed because minecraft was using the port. My port tester needs to be able to listen on the port to test it, but if the UDP passed then the TCP should as well
