Why is your program better than..
« on: May 26, 2013, 12:44:39 PM »
...#1 Portforward.com Static Program?

Answer(s) that I know of:

a) Not limited to only English install(s).

b) Does not offer to install tool bar(s).

c) Does not offer to change the user's home page.

d) Portable (no install need to run).

Is there any else, besides the things that I know of?

...#2 Doing it without downloading any more software (Manually, by first going to the control panel on/of the OS) ?

...#3 Having the router do it?

For example if an user has a router with DD-WRT, I point to

www.dd-wrt.com -> Community -> Wiki -> Tutorials -> (Basic and advanced configuration tasks for your router) -> Static DHCP

Please note, that feature is not limited to only third party firmware. This depends on the router: Users can get a firmware update from the company that makes the NAT router...

Thank you.

I dont know as I never look at their programs, so I dont know how theirs works compared to mine.

Far as I know there are no built in Windows tool or anything in a router that checks for ports being open.

The best way to test is to actually try it, thats what my port tester does.

Neither do I, but I was asking about the program that helps an user setup a Static IP on their computer..
