Asus RT-N53 router isn't port forwarding
« on: May 22, 2013, 06:27:17 PM »
First of all, hello, I am new to the forums
Second of all, I need help with port forwarding on my router as it is apparently not working

The port forwarding program that I used on this site tells me the port is open, but when I go to a web site and test it out, it tells me the port is not open.

And by the way, I prefer to not show my IP address.

This is what you need to do.

#1 Close out that port checker that you downloaded.

#2 Then follow this

http://invalidopinions.com/2012/09/16/play-black-mesa-with-a-friend-in-co-op/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqKyON6oheQ

Result should be, the port should be open according to any web based port checker.

If not, please post.

Private messages (PM) are not for support questions or for hints to not yet answered topics. The PMs are basically for confident conversation between the users, off the forum.

If my port tester says the port is open then you can count that it is

Most online port testers fail no matter what if nothing accepts their connection attempt. This port tester program will open the port on the system it is running on and listen for a connection from this site. So when the port tester program says the ports are open you can count that they are :-)

Hi, thank you for replying.

Trpted, the links you sent me tell me how to set up the Black Mesa server which I already know how to do

Shane, the port tester is the only thing that tells me port 27015 is open, even if I disregard the online port testers, my server still says that its's not responding even though I have everything set up correctly.

Yes, but if it says it is open then the port is open, which means port forwarding isnt the problem

The next step is to check if your firewall software is blocking the game.
