Lorex remote viewing not working
« on: April 28, 2013, 06:12:07 PM »
Remote viewing is not working.  I set up lorex ddns account no problem but cannot get remote viewing working.

I tried the auto port forward software it did not work.

IP 192.168.1.65

port 80
port 8000
port 1025

update router

>

Step 06. set_start_port("lan_starting_port")
(Failed - Object Not Found)
Step 07. set_stop_port("lan_ending_port")
(Failed - Object Not Found)
Step 08. set_type_choices("TCP|UDP|TCP")
Step 09. set_combobox("lan_port_protocol")
(Failed - Object Not Found)
Step 10. set_ip("lan_port_ipaddress")
(Failed - Object Not Found)
Step 11. click_onclick("doAdd()")
(Failed - Object Not Found)
Step 12. timeout("1500")
(Successful)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Finished Adding Lorex6055

doesn't work at all.  The IP does not show me remote viewing nor does the ddns name I set up. namehere.lorexddns.net for example.

im at work setting up for it to work at home.  It doesn't even work here for remote viewing.

ok I got the remote viewing working now.  Only from the IP.  I still cannot access the ddns.

anna2172.lorexddns.net does not work.  internet explorer cannot display this page.

I manually forwarded ports in router settings.

192.168.1.65 80-80 tcp
192.168.1.65 80-80 udp
192.168.1.65 9000-9000 tcp
192.168.1.65 9000-9000 udp
192.168.1.65 1025-1025 tcp
192.168.1.65 1025-1025 udp

if I try to use the lorex auto forward software it starts saying success then it says for each port...

remote port range is in used.  please select another port.

also on the ddns settings on the lorex device it says.

updated unsuccessfully
network is unreachable or dns Is wrong

I had to leave I was there for hours and they were tired.  I must finish this for them I can't keep going back and fourth someone please help me.

Let me try to explain again I will make it easier.

I manually opened ports, because the crappy Lorex program kept saying "(Failed - Object Not Found)" or it would say "remote port range is in used.  please select another port."

Originally I used router IP - 192.168.1.65 and opened the ports.

192.168.1.65 80-80 tcp
192.168.1.65 80-80 udp
192.168.1.65 9000-9000 tcp
192.168.1.65 9000-9000 udp
192.168.1.65 1025-1025 tcp
192.168.1.65 1025-1025 udp

Then I deleted all those and did the Lorex DVR IP address.  It was like 192.168.1.67 or something like that.  Did all the ports again.

Under Lorex DVR > Network > DDNS it says "updated successfully."

I can see the cameras from Internet Explorer using the DVR IP.

I CANNOT use the DDNS I made on Lorex site - anna2172.lorexddns.net  The page does not display.

I just tried it here at home.  Still does not work.

I am using a Telus router.

I need this job to be done tomorrow.

I installed these cameras at 3 SHOPS.  So all different DVRs.  I just need to get them working remote.  These people need to check them at home and on their mobile iPhone.

Thank you

You posted after 6 pm, I was in the house spending time with my family. :-)

Lets take a look at how you have things set up.

Post 2 screen shots for me

1. A screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router (Not my port forwarding program)
2. A screen shot of the network setup in the DVR

Lets go from there

thank you again for the response.  I found this forum via google and at first I thought you were a Lorex representative.  It was too late to call them last night so I posted here hoping you would respond.

I really appreciate you taking the time.

Like I said I can't keep going back and fourth.  The 3 shops are about 15 mins driving distance from each other, but my from my house it's 35 minute drive.  My friends need the cameras set up properly,  I offered to do it.

Am I able to PM you on the forums?  I don't know what your time zone is, I will be 6-630 pst.

I will post the screenshots right away when I get there.

I'm on the west coast :-)

PM is disabled to me because I had people who wouldnt post and just kept sending me messages instead lol. But I get an email every time someone posts.

I make the port forwarding program for lorex and I help users who need the port forwarding working.

A common problem people face is being behind 2 routers and not realizing that the modem from their ISP is acting as a router.

You can find that out by logging into the router, find what WAN Ip it has and see if it matches the Ip on this page

Hi Shane I wasn't able to go today.  I am going to get my friend at the shop take pictures of the DVR network and the router port settings.  From a different shop though, not the one I was at yesterday.

I will bump the topic with the pictures when he sends them to me.

Thanks again
