Digimerge APF Step 15 Failure
« on: December 23, 2012, 08:54:41 PM »
We recently purchased a new router for our Digimerge DVR - ASUS RT-N12.  We get a step 15 failure. Can you help us figure out why we aren't seeing the 'save' button at this point in the process?

It is suppose to click a save & reboot button. They must have removed it on your version firmware in the router.

But lets also make sure you setup the port correctly. Post a screen shot of the network setup in the DVR and I can make sure things are set right. And go ahead and reboot the router as well just in case

We are positive the set up is correct - was done by the tech people who installed the digimerge system for us and everything worked well until we tried to install the new router.  If the issue is in the firmware of the router, is there a solution for this?

Lets first take a look at a few settings. IN the router post a screen shot of the firewall page for me :-)

Thank you Shane.  With your reply about the firmware issue with the ASUS router and a call to the company who sold us the Digimerge equipment, we discovered that the router firmware is not compatible with the system.   Digimerge suggested a Linksys router and after a call to Linksys we were assured that the router we will be purchasing will suit our needs and do all we need it to do.   Again, thank you.

I need help....The ASUS router was returned...and we now have a Linksys E2500.  It is connected to the computer but when I try to connect to digimerge in order to gain access to the remote cam operations. it says that the values cannot be the same.  What are the values and how do I  change them?

Values cant be the same? Where are you getting that? Post a screen shot when that happens and that will let me see

Hit prtscn on your keyboard, open paint and go to edit and paste. Save it as a jpg and you can attach it when you post.

Right, you cant have the same port in more than 1 rule. You already have the rule there, no need to try and add it again.

Also in the linksys go to the status page, lets make sure the internet IP on the status page matches the IP on here

Thank you Shane...the above issue has been sorted out.
My new questions is:
We have a set-up where five individuals have access through Team Viewer to a single computer in a remote location with poor bandwidth.  We generally try to access one at a time, but find that we have issues that create the necessity for someone to go to the location and reboot the router, etc.  Does the remote access affect this? and if so how?

If you can access a system hooked to the router with teamviewer you can log into the router and use the reboot option (If it has one)

Your remote access wouldnt cause any problems with the router. If the router is needing reboot a lot you may need to replace it.
