Web Client Viewer?
« on: October 13, 2012, 09:43:49 AM »
Hey Shane and co, I'm not one to just hop on and ask a question, but I have been roaming around, seeing your answers to others and using to aid me along the road and well, I seem to have come to a stop. I have tried installing the activex file, and all my ports seem to work or so the client says?

The viewer wont load though. Any tips?

http://arukux.lorexddns.net/

Thats the DDNS.

Ports being, 1025, 9000, and 80.

Edit: I managed to get it working on Firefox with the IE tab, but I'm having no luck on getting it to work on my Android? I have a Galaxy S II.

As for IE check to see if there is a firmware update for your DVR. I know lorex made updates to the firmware so the active x control supports IE 9.

As for the phone app I wont be much help. As I just made the port forwarding program. But I think I know why it isnt working, I cant connect to your DVR. SO we need to make sure port forwarding is working.

Post 2 screen shots for me.

1. A screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router (Not my program)
2. A screen shot of the network setup in the DVR.

Lets go from there :-)

Ok so far so good :-)

Now in the netgear go to the basic settings page. There you will see the WAN/Internet IP. Does it match the IP on this page?

OK good :-)

It is possible your ISP blocks port 80. So try this, in the DVR on the network setup, change the http port from 80 to 81 or 8080

Then go to the port forwarding page, edit the rule that has port 80 and change it to what ever port you set int he dvr.

Let me know when your done and I will try to connect

Changed it to 81 on both the portforwarding page and DVR.

Still not working, and I just noticed. You have the dns in the DVR wrong. The DNS isnt suppose to be the same IP as the DVR the DNS should be the same IP os the gateway 192.168.1.1

Change it, reboot the dvr and let me know when it is done and I will try to connect again

It now works :-D

It is possible port 80 will work if you want to try it again.

So the wrong DNS was the problem. Try it, let me know your all set and Iw ill lock this thread.
