Is CM running if Mini Monitor is closed?
« on: September 21, 2012, 09:26:54 PM »
I just need to ask. Is Cleanmem running if the Mini Monitor is put away or not launched? The Mini Monitor is all that shows in Task Manager. I hope this is not a stupid question, but I don't know and I really don't need to watch it.

Thanks - Bob

Not a stupid quest. CleanMem doesn't run all the time, only when it is called. That is why you don't see it in task manager. If you have the mini monitor closed then it will still run on a schedule that you can see/adjust in "scheduled tasks". It runs for a second or so, cleans up unneeded memory then closes. That way it doesn't take up any memory just sitting there.

Thanks Evan. I only have 256mg of ram and I need to keep as little open as possible. It's also depressing to see how much memory is left.

Thanks again - Bob

No problem. Sounds like CleanMem is the perfect tool. Like I said, the mini monitor just gives you some status info and calls the original program. You can use CleanMem without the mini monitor. You really should look at adding more memory.
