Ram drops when visitin some websites
« on: September 09, 2012, 01:57:54 PM »
Hi
Similar to a question I asked before but I use avant browser(or IE) and when I visit
some websites the available ram drops 10megs or so and when I close the tab it does not
come back-is this normal? I am not running any other applications when this happens.
An yes I use cleanmem shawn but not usually when I use an IE based browser.

Closing the tab doesnt always clean up the memory. This is based on which program or browser you use and it is how they coded it.

The only way the memory will get free is when the browser is closed completely.

I also notice I can get some ram back by minimizing avant for a few seconds
then my ram goes from 312 to 322(I ususally get about 312 available ram)
I have 512 megs installed-ALSO why is there an extra topic below my posts?
Did I do something wrong?

Thanks I see now-I dont use an ad blocker on IE just disable javascript!
(sorry) I know you want people to see those ads but I am still using IE6
and enabling javascript crashes my browser! Actually I am using an old
version of avant and it has an option button on the toolbar easly disable
javascript, flash, images etc....<grin> thats why I cant use the smile or wink.
