Unique Problem with my D-link router
« on: August 02, 2012, 07:02:22 AM »
Hi Shane! Howz everything ?You've been responding to the posts and given nice suggestions so i thought you must know the solution to my prblem !

My D-link(DIR600) router was working fine until this morning when it suddenly stopped broadcasting the wireless signal. All the lights are off except to the power light!! Couldn't even access the router page which i think is 192.168.0.1(webpage not available error).I've also lost my setup CD.

Actually my laptop uses wifi and my desktop uses the cabled connection(which is from router). My internet connection is working fine as i can connect to internet when connected directly with the lan cable.

Hope you will help !! Thank you :)

All the lights are off?

Sounds like it might have gone out on you. Have you power cycled it?

Yeah as the router is booting up non of the other lights will come on. It is booting its operating system. When it goes no further that the light that means that it is either locking up or crashing. (Needs replaced)

You could try a 30/30/30 reset on it, dont know if it will help but worth a shoot.

A reset will put everything back to defaults.

So do this

1. Hold the reset button on the back in for 30 sec.
2. While still holding the reset button unplug the power.
3. With the power unplug keep holding reset for 30.
4. After 30 sec plug the power back in. Keep holding the reset for 30 sec.
5. After that last 30 sec let go and see if it fixed it at all

If it still doesnt work after a factory reset then it looks like it is dead.
