Minecraft Server isnt working Portforwarding problem
« on: July 31, 2012, 05:02:15 PM »
 I am working REALLY hard to make a Minecraft server for my crew and I. I have everything set up perfectly accept one thing. I have been to my linksys port forwarding page and have used Portforwarding.com to help me. It says on the linksys website thing (which I have access to by typing my ip into google) that the port is open. I downloaded the port checker and it says its closed!  The port "25565" remains closed. I am extremely frustrated to the point of actual tears and desperately need help! Its urgent!!!

Here are all the details:
ip:192.168.1.102
port i am trying to open:25565
Error: This means that our server was not able to make a TCP connection to your network. Your TCP port is not forwarded properly or the device it is forwarded to is not responding
Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

I need help ASAP!!!

Lets get you fixed up :-)

Post 2 screen shots for me.

1. A screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router
2. A screen shot of the results of my port tester

Lets go from there

Okay. Here are the results. On the linksys site, it says the port is open. On the portforwarding.com port checker, it says its closed. On your port checker, it says failed. Does that mean the port is closed? Or does it mean it failed to find results???

Hey, I think i found the problem, in the IP Address you must put 102 not 2, then test again.

Like FlipDav44 said, you have the wrong IP in the port forwarding rule
