Run-time error '10048'
« on: April 22, 2012, 01:19:33 PM »
I updated from CleanMem v2.3.1 to CleanMem v2.4.0 yesterday, and I have it set to "Automatically start at Windows startup - All Users."  When I Switch User and log in as the other User, I get this error: "Run-time error '10048': Address in use" when CleanMem tries to load for the other User. It only happens when both Users are logged in at the same time. This never happened when I was using CleanMem v2.3.1. It started after I updated to CleanMem v2.4.0. I even uninstalled, then installed again thinking that would help, but it didn't resolve the problem. I am using Windows XP, and I upgraded to the Pro version while using CleanMem v2.3.1. Is there a link to CleanMem v2.3.1 so that I can reinstall that version until this problem is resloved?

Attached is a screenshot of the error.

Ah I see what is happening.

The mini monitor opens a port on local host. This is for the screen saver to pull data from it.

If your running more than one min monitor then the other mini monitor is using the port!

I need to update the program and have it not show that error message.

Thanks for the heads up!

Updated :-)

CleanMem V2.4.1
http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem

v2.4.1
Bug fix. When you had more than one mini monitor running on the machine you would get an error that the port was in use. This is because the other mini monitor was using it. I have fixed it so this error doesn't pop up :-)

It takes a few for the mirrors to update. So you can download directly at the bottom of the page

Thank you very much for such a rapid response. I updated to CleanMem V2.4.1 and that resolved the problem I was having with the error message. Everything is working well now. Thank you for such a great program. I have tried many others and this one works the best for my needs.
