Outlook Express
« on: March 30, 2012, 05:12:38 AM »
Well my old entry for this got locked so here is a new one. Outlook Express won't load. I now have some software recovery 'stuff' that I think will work. So how do I get outlook Express fixed?

You can use the recovery software you have to fix the inbox and such. That should get you going again

Threads auto lock after 30 days of no posts by the way :-)

Well, I made the entry in the old one but no one answered -- I was still waiting.

As far as fixing inbox, etc. from my backup -- I don't think so since the backup I did was after I started having problems with Outlook. I'm thinking I need a new Outlook Express.

Ah, Even responded to you in the old thread but then never answered lol

Ok for your outer look there is something we can try to see if you just have a corrupt inbox or something.

All the folders in outlook express are stored in .dbx files. They can become corrupt.

In fact a google search
https://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&safe=off&q=how+to+repair+outlook+express+dbx+file&oq=how+to+repair+outlook+express&aq=3&aqi=g4&aql=&gs_l=hp.1.3.0l4.1398l5663l0l7867l29l15l0l14l14l0l192l2033l3j12l29l0.frgbld.&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=eee8dee71542687e&biw=1920&bih=874

Shows TONS of programs that can fix it. But they are all pay for programs.

I have a dbx repair in one of my programs I use to work on computers. Send me an email shane at pcwintech, we will get on chat and I will teamviewer into you and run it for you.

You have been a long time user of my forums, so it is the least I can do for you

It didn't occur to me that you might want to chat at 3 AM. Apparently MS LiveMail checks for an Email address before it will send an Email. Doesn't like shane@pcwintech for some reason.

Can we go back to this item? I ran the tool you gave me access to but it did not list any files to recover. So what is the next step?
