Can`t delete?!
« on: February 27, 2012, 09:41:51 AM »
Hello Shane and everyone,

I got a big problem. I needed to make a new account on Windows to play a game. So I wanted to stop playing the game, and I deleted the other account and was searching for the game. But it isn`t there. I used a disk analyzer software and found it. The problem now is that I can`t delete it. It uses much place on my disk and I don`t need it. Always when I try do delete it, I get an error saying:

"Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."

Can you please help me, thanks.

Where is the location of the files your trying to delete?

It`s located on disk C, Documents and Settings, in my folder. When I go there to delete it manually, I can`t find it. When I look how much space the folder uses, the game doesn`t use anything. But when I find it on disk analyzer it says it`s using 4.7 GB.

Edit: I used the system restore point, but didn`t help. I got now the other account back, but will delete it.

Here is it: http://www.extensoft.com/?p=free_disk_analyzer

Edit: I`m using now CCleaner to clean up my free space on disk C, maybe it helps. I will and try to defrag the folder in what the file is.

And if you right click on the folder in windows and go to properties how big does it say it is?

Possible the disk program has a bug

When I do that it says 82.5 MB. But when I use the disk analyzer it says there is a game with 4.7 GB. I`m not sure is it using space on my disk..hope it isn`t, wish I could delete it.

Allright than, thank you Shane! I have calculated the used space on my disk without the game, and think it`s ok. The game isn`t using space..
