Erunt Backup Tool Question
« on: February 24, 2012, 05:06:02 PM »
Howdy
Just dropped system restore and am using eruntgui which backs up the registry,my question is can the backup folders be renamed? The program adds the date and time to the folder so I want to name them like "before installing something" can I do this?(add that after the date) Any advice from anyone that uses the program?

That does not seem to be the answer-I am using a version of erunt that has a gui and it only adds the date and time-the backups are stored in windows/ERDNT with the date and time-I just want to add some more info to the specific backup I make-as in after the date add the program I installed....

I am not sure what gui your using, but in my programs I just call erunt using the command lines. Simply do the same, make a bat file and put it in the same folder as erunt and then put your command int he bat file and then run it :-)

I am using this version(portable) on this page  http://www4.webng.com/krtech/ERUNTgui.htm
I tried emailing the author with no results.Just want to rename the folder-I guess I could test and see what happens-I only make a backup every 2 days or so.

Let me know if he gets back to you. If he doesn't I can make my own GUI for it :-D

Hi Shane
Author did not get back to me but maybe you can answer this question: I want to change the time settings on the gui- they are now hh:mm:ss but it looks like military time- as in it does not say 8:45 pm it says 20:45 you see? What should I enter or can it not be done?I really want to renane the folders after the time but am afraid to-I dont see why I could not as the folders are not stored in the registry?

I know nothing about their GUI, never even used it. I know how to run erunt from the command window and that's all. I will see what I can do about making my own gui for it down the road

In my program I have it set to put the date and time that is on the system. So it is totally up to how the person has their system set.

Nope, in VB I just do foldername = Date & "_" & Time

And I get this
1-21-2012_10-43 PM

Oh I am so confused!! This is what mine says in the gui   hh:mm:ss  and that gives me military time- any idea that I can change that to so ot would be like windows time-i tried yours but it made some strange names!!
One more try then I quit bugging you!I can see the time the folder was created in the taskbar so no biggie.
