Actiontec MI424WR Rev. E Port Forwarding
« on: December 04, 2011, 11:18:21 AM »
I've been trying for several days now to port forward the port 25565 on my router. And every time it simply does not work!

We used to have this same router, however it broke and our ISP (Verizon) got us a replacement. Ever since we got the replacement router I haven't been able to forward any ports on it manually. Programs such as Skype and Utorrent that automatically make port forwarding rules seem to have no issue forwarding their ports.. But if I try to do it manually the port doesn't open, even though it says the port forwarding rule is active.

I already changed the firewall settings to low, and here's the screenshot you asked for:

If the port really IS open, I'm not quite sure why my Minecraft server (port 25565) isn't working...

The port is open. My port tester opens the port and listens for a connection. So if it says it is open, then it is

So the things to check now are to make sure no firewall software is blocking minecraft. And to remember that when you connect to your own server to use your local IP. And for people outside your home they need to use your internet IP.

But as far as port forwarding your all good to go :-)
