First lets find out how much of the drive is working.
Grab my drive tool
http://www.pcwintech.com/drive-speedometer

And wait till the system is idle and starts working away on the hard drive. This will show you the speed of it.

One know thing in XP in the indexer service indexing your files when idle. I hate it.

Try my simple performance boost and see if it helps any

Thanks for your reply Shane, what should I look for or who should I comprehend the data coming from the drive tool?
I have the indexing service disabled long time ago.

First monitor how much data is being done when it is doing it with my program. From there we can get an idea what might be using it.
