Stop Malwarebytes from blocking ports - Utorrent
« on: October 13, 2011, 09:00:36 AM »
hi

i just upgraded to the latest versions of utorrent and malwarebytes today. my previous version of malwarebytes was pretty old but i did stay on top of updating the database. anyway, does anyone or shane know how to stop malwarebytes from blocking ports when utorrent is on? it's really annoying and cause of it i ihink it drops connections to my torrents im trying to seed. im aware of the risks with using torrents but i'm willing to take that risk. i've been using utorrent for years and i've never had anything bad come from it. i've tried googling my question but couldn't find the help i need. hopefully someone here will be able to help.

thanks in advance.

I wasn't aware malwarebytes blocks anything, its not a firewall.

I havent used the newest version yet, and I only use the free version. What makes you think malwarebytes is blocking the ports?

nevermind, i figured it out. it seems that if you have website blocking turned on in malwarebytes it blocks ip addresses that try to connect when you use utorrent in the background. it's been a few days but i think i was getting that problem cause i got a new version and forgot to disable website blocking. it generates a log in the log part of the program and the ip blocking is called ip protection. but once you properly disable website blocking you should have no problem with utorrent then. at least that's how it was for me. oh yeah and it was the paid version i was using and not the free version.

hope that helps.
