unable to access DVR from internet
« on: October 07, 2011, 10:27:58 PM »
I am using DSL-2750U as router (192.168.1.1). dyndns configured. if trying to connect using Hostname from internet it shows router's page only. DVR ip 192.168.1.50 port 8080. configured virtual server on 8080, port triggering to 8080 TCP and DMZ to 192.168.1.50.
I tried Simple Port Forwarding Tool also. But same thing is happening.

Are you adding the :8080 to the url?

yes :-) I can access using http:\\192.168.1.50:8080 in LAN.
I tried ADSL modem + Linux firewall just instead of DSL-2750U keeping DVR and all other settings same and I use port forwarding of linux then it works well.

I got your email and I can connect to you just fine.

The problem is your router doesn't support reverse NAT

SO when on the same network as the DVR you will use its local IP. And when outside your home like I am then you use the DDNS name

Yes It's working. Thanks for your valuable help.
FYI : previously I tried on Netgear 632 and SmartAX MT882. Now I will try again using those models as per your guidelines. Thanks again.
