BIOS and Splash Screen
« on: October 07, 2011, 04:03:48 PM »
Hi Shane,
I hoping for some insight here. The other day I uninstalled a plug in call Nextdef (a plug in for high definition live streaming). The moment I started to uninstall it Super Anti Spy Ware flagged it as a trojan package (false positive). I ran the scan anyway and was prompted to restart my computer by Super Anti Spy Ware. Once I did, I couldn't see my BIOS screen and splash screen (the one with the bars at the bottom while the drivers are loading for vista). It was all black. Once it got past that part though everything runs fine. I can see the windows orb and log on screen. I'm wondering if my drivers for my video card got jacked up by this (my card is a geforce 210 nvidia).

The bios screen is before windows, so no Windows drivers are even loaded.

Try a power reset.

Unplug the power the computer and monitor. Try to turn on the computer a few times, this will drain all the juice out of it. Then plug them back in and turn it on and see what happens

Been fixing computers since I was 15 (I'm 32 now) and you would be shocked at how many things the power drain trick can fix :-)
