Does it give any reason or message why it cant restore?

You may need to delete the old restores and have it create new ones. This is one of the reasons I turn restore off and use my own backup software

But lets see if we can find out why it is giving you that message.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I did that already with no positive results. Also Erunt is unable to restore registry backups ! + did a deep virus scan with AVAST and malware with MBAM, with no infectios. System restore  does not give any reasons as to why it wouldn`t do the backup, only states that it is unable to restore and that no changes have been made to the system.

Might be a permissions problem. Try my repair tool

And see if it helps

You may need to turn restore off, have it clear any old restores, then reboot. Once back up turn restore on and have it make a restore point and see if it works.
