« on: August 19, 2011, 06:00:26 PM »
hi everyone, i buy this router a few weeks ago and i have one big issue.
In my home i have lan for 3 desktop, xbox 360 and the wireless is connected to my brother packardbell with N wireless card inside. the problem is when my brother connect to the wifi he "eats" all the 300 mbps bandwidth and leave the lan desktops without internet or local lan. i search in the menu of the router and nothings says about limit the bandwidth for wifi or a way to solve the problem, And i can't leave him without access to the network. i hope anyone can help me with this because is giving me headache of a life time. thanks

p.s i don't speak fluid english but i tried my best  :shy:

300 mbps bandwidth isnt much is it :-)

I don't think the belkin has many options on the bandwidth. I also checked the DD-WRT firmware, which does have some bandwidth options, but it doesn't support your router.

At this point your going to need a better router to control the bandwidth.

Now this is just an example,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122087

But one of the features of the prosafe routers is

Quote
Bandwidth Management

Control end user bandwidth consumption with Bandwidth Profiles
Prioritize traffic with Quality of Service (QoS)
    WAN Traffic Metering

Right now your current router isnt going to do the job
