When your at the log on you have to tell it to connect to the local machine and not the domain.

On XP you have a option of choosing the computer name or the domain name.
On vista & 7 it is all a matter of the login name.

So lets say on a Windows 7 machine named Computer
Here is the login to get onto it
computer\usernamer
then the password

So check the username, it may still be trying to log onto the domain, it should say what it is trying to log into right under the password box
