ZyXEL P-2602HWT-F3 - Default log in
« on: May 03, 2011, 09:42:51 AM »
Hi, I just came home after a long trip, and when I came home and tried to log in to my router the default login wouldn't work... (I haven't changed the log in etc.)
I've tried to restart the router and all the other basic stuff.

I really need help!

You may have to do a factory reset. Could someone else have logged in and changed it?

No, I'm the only one who knows how to log in to the router etc.

When I try to log in it doesn't react at all, doesn't even reject the log in name...

Very odd, and you said you already unplugged the power and back in.
Did you use the default password of 1234?

Your going to have to do a factory reset. When you do the modem will lose your DSL login name and password. So have those handy before you do so you can put them back in and get online

If you need them give your ISP a call and they will give you the info.

There is normally a certain way you need to do the reset. If you have trouble let me know

If you were using the default username and password then anyone who had access to the network could have easily changed it. If you have an unsecured wireless network then it would be really simple to join the network and log into the router and change the password. I always demonstrate this to people when I am setting up their security. You should always change the defaults to avoid this.

If this didn't happen though, then you might have a defective router.
