Ok good, video card is fine. Unless it is the monitor then it is something still in windows.

I know its silly, but it is the last thing to check. Do you have another monitor?
Thats all the hardware left to check. If it is fine as well then it is something in windows.

If you dont have another monitor there is another way to test it if your up to it.

Lol, extra machines means extra monitors is all

Here is the trick, this will cover both finding out if it is windows or if it is hardware.

http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download

Ubuntu will let you run the OS right off the cd. So you will be able to use a different OS without losing anything or installing anything.

See how it works with it and they will tell us if it is windows or not

If it is windows or hardware other things would be going nuts as well.

At the same time it all depends sometime on what colors (I know strange)

At this point I dont know what to have you do next short of a reinstall if it is windows or something corrupt.

If it was me I would verify its not hardware by doing the ubuntu trick. Once I am sure it is windows I personally would reinstall the sucker

The system file checker only check system files, so if it is a driver problem it wont fix it.
When you did the ATI card you where using different drivers so I dont think it is it.

Log shot, but I wonder if DirectX might have something to do with it?

Couldnt find anything on msxml3 only 6

3 is pretty old, not sure where to get it.

heading otu the door to speed time with my little ones. I will be back later

Another way you can check to see if it is windows is if you have an extra Hard Drive laying around. You could put that in and load up Windows and see if the problem persists. If it does then it has to be something with the hardware which would be the monitor since everything else has been checked.

Ha was Windows lol

Good to hear your set bud :-)

Sometimes the only way to fix windows ia reinstall. A repair is a reinstall but with all your stuff still on there. Doesn't always do the trick, but in this case it did :-)

Hope I was of some freaking help LOL
