« on: March 03, 2011, 08:23:21 AM »
I have a TG782 Thompson Router, the router is basically brand new i used it for about a week & it worked fine then yesterday some lights started to blink but with no internet acces. I reset the router unplugged & nothing makes it work, i was wondering if theres a way to hard reset it to see if thats the problem. Hope you can help!

thanks, Abner

You could do a hard reset, you will need to log into after to put your DSL log in info back.

It is possible it is a bad modem/router as well.  But try the reset first

There is a small reset button on the back. Use a pen/pencil or paper clip to press and hold the button down (about 7 seconds) until the power light turns red then release the reset button. This will hardware reset to factory defaults.

Which lights are blinking?

If the power light just blinks and never goes solid then you have a problem with the router.
When the DSL light blinks the modem is trying to get a DSL signal, if it never goes solid then it never get the DSL signal, Sometimes you need to make sure you don't have the DSL filter on the phone line and such.

If the power and dsl go solid but the internet light just blinks then that is normally a user name and password problem for the DSL account info

I take it your on a different internet connection to be posting lol

Something else you can try just to make sure it is a problem with the router is to directly connect your computer to the DSL modem.  If you can get online at that point then you know it is the router and we can continue to help you troubleshoot that.
