Alright, what about if you go to www.pingtest.net

That will perform some test regarding quality of data rather than speed.  That relates to the error message you posted (about ICMP).

You can also do select to copy the results in a way that they are pasted the same as you see them in your browser.

Upload isnt very good. SO keep in mind if anyone else is using the net, or you have things like utorrent going while you game this will really make the online horrible on the xbox.

We know it works fine with a wire and not wireless.
Di you have a different router before hand? and if so did the xbox have trouble with it?

hi guys hope you had a good christmas, i had a wireless G router beforehand which was also belkin, initially i had major disconnection problems but i solved them eventually via forums and tech support from belkin, eventually the problem just became lag issues really, iv now changed my routers ip to static and still not having much luck iv also used port forward to let the xbox ports through, it stil takes ages to connect to xbox live tho i am yet to try an online game to see what the connection is like

tho all of a sudden now things like my iphone wont find the belkins wireless signal or my laptop will drop connection think im gona throw it through window lol

If you can confirm other devices are having trouble with the wireless then I say it is time for a new router

I would go with a netgear. Linksys use to be the top, but when cisco bought them out they made linksys their cheap brand.

Just remember you get what you pay for

The lag problems are either coming from the router or something wrong with your ISP.
Even if it is just a few weeks old you are having trouble with the wireless on multiple devices. yet if your plugged in it works fine.

Personally I would return it and get a netgear. But if that isnt an option then you should do more testing with the network cable again. Does the lag still happen? do you still get kicked? Lets make a good confirm if it is the wireless or not.

Thanks.  I did have a great Xmas.  My son really enjoyed it.

Since you've had multiple issues with Belkin routers I'd say it's time to try a different brand.  If that router is only a few weeks old then you should be able to return it and get your money back.  I'd suggest doing that and going with a different brand since the hardware you bought isn't doing the job that you bought it for.

It looks like the wireless on the router is toast. The laptop is getting poor performance and the xbox. Yet when plugged right in with a network cable runs fine.

On the speed test make sure to try a different server for the test. Just to make sure

Have you tried hooking your Xbox directly up to your modem to determine if the ICMP error is due to your router or your ISP?  If you are still getting that error when hooking up only the Xbox to only the modem then you will know for a fact that you have an issue with the ISP.  In that case you will need to contact them.

If the issue goes away then you have an issue with your router.  It already looks like the Wireless Access Point component of the router isn't functioning correctly and you might have problems with the other parts as well.  Just because the product is knew doesn't mean that it will work properly.  Brand new items are busted all the time.  At the very least you should talk to whoever you purchased it from and ask about returning it.

hi guys me again iv changed the router and guess what .............................. still the same problems lol tho if you look at the image attatched the connection appears to be showing up twice one as belkin and the other as the rt2860 this could be noobish but could that be a problem somewhere along the lines, also i am not sure if i mentioned this but earlier on my laptop disconnected and when i hit troubleshoot it came up with a message along the lines of cannot connect to the hidden wireless network belkin
