Make sure you have DMZ turned off in the router

If you use DMZ you have to make sure you have the right IP in it. You will need to check the IP of the xbox.

DMZ is a open all ports rule. SO it overwrites UPnP and port forwarding.
UPnP is auto port forwarding, which the xbox supports. so DMZ shouldn't be needed

Did you reset the network settings for the your wireless connection and did you enable or disable security?

With DMZ on and the right IP of the xbox in there then every port should be open to it.

One thing to check, make sure your WAN ip in the router matches the internet IP on my port tester page

ok make sure UPnP is enabled in the router. Save then unplug the power to it and then back in. Wait till the internet comes back up on your computer and then go turn on the xbox. See if it still says strict

I've heard that the built in wireless doesn't get good reception so I wanted to make sure that you aren't having a just a bad radio signal.  You did say that the only difference between it working well before and not now was you switching from a different Wireless G router, correct?

It just seems odd that if you swapped out your router for a more powerful one that you are now having lag issues.  I say that because the strict NAT doesn't affect your lag or the quality of your connection.  It only affects your ability to establish a connection of for others to be able to communicate with you.  So if you are having performance issues (lag) that is something other than NAT.

Are you being disconnected from a game after you enter it?  Or are you not even able to sign into Xbox Live?

I still would really like to do a test with the wireless out of the way. No way you could do that?

I second that.  If you can test with a working network cable then that will tell us a lot.

I was hoping you could just move the xbox for a quick test is all. I really think the problem is the wireless, but is it the router wireless or the xbox's wireless. Thats what I am curious about.
