New desktop.
« on: June 12, 2010, 04:28:24 AM »
I had to replace my desktop so now I have a Dell somethiong or other. I've got a problem that I probably should know how to fix but can't -- looking for ideas.

Still using my old Gateway monitor. Screen size is too big, all the screens have to be scrolled left/right to view. Never was that way before. Any ideas on how to fix? I realize this seems like a simple thing but I have no clue of how to fix it.

The resolution is higher than the monitor can handle. Just change the screen size and you'll be fine :-)

You're right of course. I got desperate (wife said it was unusable). Started poking around -- changed screen resolution from 8xx X 6xx to 11xx X ??? and it worked fine. Left it alone, don't have a clue as to what it should be but lost interest once she was happy. Got my laptop back.     :undecided:

Reckon this one can be closed.
