Title: Unlugged Digimerge Touch now offline
Post by: zbakke on June 25, 2014, 06:28:55 AM
I unplugged my Digimerge Touch and now it is not viewable online. I imagined it would have just booted up again, however it didn't. What do I need to do?

When it booted back up it might have gotten a new local IP from the router if you didnt set it to static. So if the IP changed the the port forwarding rules wont work since they are pointing to the old IP

Have you double checked the port forwarding rules and the IP of the dvr?

Post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router and a screen shot of the network setup in the dvr so I can double check them.

Well, I kind got it working. It works at home (ie-i can view the DVR online and via phone) but I can not view it away from the house....ArrG! I have it set on static, but the IP address seemed to have changed. I just reentered the new IP and I can view it at home...but like I said.......

It just doesn't make sense to me...why can I see it when I am at home but not away from home.....It must be something with the WIFI....but that's where I get confused. If its available WIFI at my house, why not the rest of the web?

Because the port forwarding has to be done right.

This is worth a fast read

I just need the two pictures only, no others.

1. A picture of the port forwarding page in the router (So I can double check the port forwarding rules)
2. A screen shot of the network setup in the DVR (So I can confirm the IP and ports it is using with the ones in the port forwarding page)

Log into your router and go to the port forwarding page, this will tell you how to take a screen shot and then attach that screen shot to your a new post here :-)

Yeah understand the screen shot, just don't get the logging into the router? Am I not always logged on to my router? Is that something where I need to pull up a cmd?

Your router has its own log in in order to get to the config pages.

#1 That web page is for computers running Windows NT (Including: Windows NT 3.5, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, and 8).

#2 If running Windows but not Windows NT, then..

a) Open the run command, this is normally under your start menu, if it isn't hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and hit r

b) Type in winipcfg and press enter.

c) Go through each of the NICs, listed in there and look for the Default Gateway.

#3 If not running Windows, please post the name and version of the OS.

For example Mac/Apple OS X 10.3
