Title: file cache
Post by: chris635 on November 22, 2012, 07:46:31 AM
Shane

Is there any way to set up cleanmem to keep file cache set in certain parameters i.e. keep a minimum and maximum (for instance keep at least 100 mb but no greater than 200mb)?
Or is this counter productive?

That can be counter productive.

But give this tool a try to mess with it

Does cleanmem file cache not work like sysinternals software does (obviously cache set gives me options, does this work on win 7 64 bit)? I'm just curious if should be cleaning file cache? I have it set in minimonitor to run every 5 minutes at 50mb. I'm looking for the best performance option.

It does it just like cacheman does. But  mine just empties it, doesnt set min or max.

You only really need to clean the file cache if it is growing very large. Otherwise just leave it be

I mean if it grows really large. (500 mb or more)

But Windows is normally good at keeping it under control.
