SPF won't even open
« on: November 05, 2009, 07:48:51 PM »
I think I'm the first to get stuck this far in.

I installed SPF and then when I go to run it I get the "Please Wait, Simple Port Forwarding is Loading..." thing. Then it disappears and nothing happens. I checked my running processes, its not there. I run as admin, nothing. I have a working IE8 on Win7 right now (that I don't use, but it's there). I'm sure its something really simple, but I don't know what it is.

I'll re-install it to see if that works. In the meantime, any help would be great.

No error messages or anything? Do you know how to check windows event viewer to see if anything is in there?

On your windows 7, did you do a full install, an upgrade or did it come pre installed?

Im trying to fig out whats going on, so the first step is to see about the files SPF needs to run  ;)

No error messages or anything. I don't know what Windows Event Viewer is.

I did a full install from two different mirrors (the Majorgeeks.com mirror and the direct download mirror).

Edit: I now have Event Viewer open, but I have no clue how to use this very cluttered UI.

Well not sure exactly what fixed it, but ran the MDAC repair tool from my toolbox page and then rebooted (the system hadn't been rebooted in 5+ days)

After that it worked. Not sure if it was the MDAC or the reboot, but it worked LOL  ;D

Locking thread.
