Update Router List Not Working
« on: September 22, 2009, 08:43:27 AM »
Hi

I've trawled the available help and this forum to see if I can find a fix but I can't.  Apologies if it is out there somewhere.

My problem is with the very first step after installation.  In The Getting Started List, Item 1 is Update Router List with a button for 'DO IT NOW', I click this and am offered 'This will overwrite your current databases.  Do You want to continue? Yes/No.

Of course I click Yes and the Update databases window pops up, seems to be downloading the relevant info, then a another window pops up so briefly that I can't tell what it is and I am left with a command box that says:

The Databases are now being updated.  Once done (when the new window closes) click OK to continue.  If you see no new windows then you are good to go.  OK

When moving to step 2  Select your router and set login info I again click on 'Do it now' to be offered the Router list, which is empty, there are no routers to select.  Similarly the drop down menu for router info has no information in it.

I presume my databases have not been updated at all!  What can I do?

My Router is a Netgear DG834G v.4

Many thanks

Help file tells what to do  ;D
The program uses a access database, when the database cant be read something is wrong with MDAC on the system. Under the advanced menu is a Repair MDAC tool, run it and reboot and see if the router list loads. If it doesnt let me know, and more steps are in the help file as well  ;)
