Identify ... "mystery" router ???

Im living in a hotel/apartment building that provides free internet to it's tenants on a shared network. My problem is; it looks like the port for Utorrent is blocked by their router/server/thing (I'm not advanced tech guy) I've tried to do automatic port forwarding but without knowing the type of router (the front desk people don't know and won't let me in the server room). My question is there a way to open this port without knowing the router or is their a program that can detect what kind of router I'm hooked up to?

Please help as overseas television for an American is just dreadful! I need my downloaded tv!

Well you can bet they will have the router password protected and I dont think they will give that to you lol.
use my detect multiple routers tool and see how many routers you might be behind

If your lucky and they have just 1 router, and they have UpnP enabled then utorrent can maybe open the port itself. Make sure utorrent is set to use UpnP.
