Problems with first step

Keep getting error

RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND(-2146697211

Using Netgear wgr614v7
Windows 7 RC

when updating the router? Can you post the log please.

I use firefox as my default, could that be a problem with this?

no, I use firefox as well, I have the same router too :-)

The program uses IE. So 2 things to try first.

1. Login to your netgear your self in firefox or IE. If the netgear is set to auto check for firmware updates on the first screen disable it. That page keeps anything else from loading till it is done.
My netgear when it was new would pop up a window on the first log in and keep showing it till you tell it not to. Things like these get in the way.

2. Once all that is done and if it still doesn't work disable silent mode under the advanced menu. This keeps pop ups and page errors from showing, so by turning it off it should show if something like that is stopping it.

Let me know how that goes and we will go from there :-)

Awesome, everything works now. I use comodo firewall and that was acting up whenever the script was trying to access. Simple allow program and everything works. Thanks for this great little piece of software, may the gods look upon you with admiration. :)
