pings over my network
« on: January 20, 2012, 01:46:00 PM »
Shane
As I think remember i comment about my problem sending stickies or clips from the program Stickies and Ditto.
I am trying in several forums this question because seems a difficult issue.
At the present as we have talked I can access to every folder in all terminals with windows explorer. All terminal under windows xp pro sp3.
The system is install in the M: letter in the desktop terminal and in C: in the portatil terminal. The desktop terminals make autologon and the password is empty. In the portatil I use a 7 length password and autologon. When I enter don't need that password establish for good work with Cobian Backup .
But I can't send or receives stickies or clips from or to the portatil Acer terminal.
Nevertheless the ping command goes well from the desktop terminals to the portatil terminal.
And fails when execute in the portatil Acer to send ping to the rest of terminals.

The error message is :

PING: error en la transmisión, código de error 65

------ PING - transmission error, error code 65 --------

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316414

but ICS is not activated and in those partitions I use windows firewall.

How can I depure my problem ?

Best Regards

The windows firewall may be set to ignore pings, have you checked there yet?

In the three terminals is activated the option.
The other day I observed after the ping's tha WF was desactivated in Acer and Mozart.
I activate.
Now I repeat the proof :

error 65 continues.

I am scanning the web :

http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showthread.php?t=58563
your TCP/IP stack is corrupt. Uninstall recently installed third-party programs, search for spyware using adaware, logon with a different account, reinstall TCP/IP, reinstall Win2k...

http://www.todoexpertos.com/categorias/tecnologia-e-internet/redes-de-computadores/respuestas/273449/sobre-el-comando-ping

mainly shown in computers where ZoneAlarm is installed. When we ping to a neighbor computer or any other networking devices we will get the error code 65 and ping request will not complete

I will continue recopiling

Has probado para saber si el TCP/IP esta bien instalado a hacer un ping?

ping 127.0.0.1

Si te da error tienes la pila mal instalada y debes reinstalar... el TCP

Case Study - PING: transmit failed, error code 65

Situation: This Computer is running Windows XP, and can access the internet.. But, when trying to access other computers on the LAN it displays 'Domain is not available. You may not have permission to access resources.'

Troubleshooting: 1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the NIC. That doesn't fix the problem.

2. No firewall running.

3. When attempting to ping the other machine, we get "PING: transmit failed, error code 65 error".

Solution: The Zonealarm was installed before. Event it had been removed but it is not clean. Re-installed and then uninstalled Zonealarm. Every thing works fine.

Also, Zonealarm is a very tough program to uninstall. If you uninstalled just by using the uninstall feature, you DID NOT get rid of all of Zonealarm. Zonealarm has info, on their site that tells you how to completely remove it

att. Shane : In several links propose install and uninstall again zonealarm...I don't see any rests in the windows registry and as I told above I don't remember install ZoneAlarm, but I recognize I am a software vicious from softonic and others. Perhaps we must assure this point because the help from microsoft only gave this answer.....

I usually make a restore point and uninstall with the free version of revo uninstaller.

I have tried to find rest of chains like zonelabs, zonealarm with zero results

tras finalizar la instalación y reiniciar cosas raras en principio, luego bien.
Me colgó el sistema
apagué manteniendo un rato pulsada la tecla de encendido del portátil.

Sorry. I have revised the installation in the windows registry in mozart, not in acer.
In june 2010 my historical tells me I tried to install over the system c: in the portatil. That is the main partition in the portatil....

We must investigate.

There are rest of the installation over acer SO (C: ) in june 2010
c:\Archivos de programa\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe, -279
and many other entries in the registry

By some reason when I bought the portatil make the dangerous option of try ZonaAlarm in a main system. And give me problems......

Going to the web of Zone Alarm.
I'll try to reinstall the free version of Zone Alarm.
And uninstall with Revo uninstaller . And then revise manually the windows registry.

Owwwwwww.
There is more. I never uninstall.
I am uninstalling now.

I have not internet connection in the portatil. Checking fails of course.
Ask for reiniatate, but continue with the advanced mode in revo uninstaller.
Reinicio tras desinstalar con método avanzado.
Revise the windows registry for chains : ZoneAlarm, Zone Labs, etc.
I will comment
