Lorex ddns won't work from some PCs
« on: January 11, 2012, 06:41:51 PM »
I installed a Lorex LH324501 system and I'm having issues accessing the ddns from vista and windows 7 PCs.  I can access it fine from the android app on 2 different phones and from my pc running windows XP.  When I try to access it from vista or 7 the login screen comes up like normal, I put in the ID and password and I get the following on the screen:

<html>
<head>
<title>DVR Netview</title>
<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=0.5)">
<meta http-equiv="Page-Exit" content="blendTrans(Duration=0.5)">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0">
<script language="JavaScript">
      document.title = document.title+ " -- " + window.location.host;
</script>
</head>
<script>
function   document.onkeydown()
{
    if(window.event.keyCode == 8
    || window.event.keyCode == 9)
   window.event.keyCode = 0;
}
</script>
<frameset border=0 frameSpacing=0 rows=0,100% frameBorder=0>
<frame name=topFrame src="" noResize scrolling=no>
<frame name=main1 src="./live_video.asp?uK=169FACD8.1.6E10" target="_self">
</frameset>
</html>

I updated the firmware on the DVR today with no change.  I am trying to access it remotely via 2 different PCs, one with vista and one with 7.  I get the same screen on both. But my pc with XP pulls it up just fine.   Any help is greatly appreciated.

The activex control only works with IE.

What browser are you using?

I'm using IE 9.    When I go to tools > manage add-ons I don't see ActiveX listed but when I go to the ddns site it does not prompt me to install ActiveX either.

I have seen that happen before with some of the DVR's.

2 things it could be.

1. The DVR just needs rebooted.
2. IE settings. They might be set to not download unsigned activeX controls. :wink:

I rebooted the DVR today after I installed the new firmware.  I'll play around with the IE settings and see what I can come up with.

I opened IE, hit tools > internet options > Security tab > custom level and  tried every combination of settings I could possibly try with no luck.  I looked at the settings on the XP pc and set the vista and 7 to the exact settings and nothing, still get the same HTML code screen.  Any other ideas?

Same thing is happening to me.

Only html showing not even asking for the lorex ActiveX control.

So what I did was click the broken page icon in IE (The compatibility button) it reloaded the page. After about 10 sec it finally popped up to install the activex control but its so slow it never does.

Looks like it is the DVR. You may want to double check that you got the latest firmware. Also I think I will email my contact at Lorex and ask if they have a setup people can download to install the ActiveX for them instead of trying to get it installed through IE. :wink:

I'll double check the firmware.  I'd appreciate it if you could email your guy. Let me know what they say.  Thanks again!

I just need to get my hands on the file.

I got it to load from you. You need to use the compatibility button to get ti to work.

Now that I have the file I am going to make a setup for it and make this easier on people :-)
