I was looking at the end results of step 5(updating your router and noticed that it only had the service name Walker2 with start/end port 25565 and ip of 192.168.1.2, my UDP port. i tried adding a custom service, with the service name as walker service type tcp starting/ending port 25565. it also has a sport for ip which is 192.168.1.blank, so i looked at the simple port forwarding software and it had the last digit as 3, so i used that. When i run step 7 the TCP says its successful and the UDP fails. I dont know if i fixed the problem and uncovered another problem or just shifted the problem.

In the port forwarding page in the router edit the first rule and change the IP to .3

Awesome, did that and now i get success on both ports. Thank you very much you really are a great help. i have two other questions for you if you have a quick answer, or can point me in the right direction if there is a form for it or i need to make a new one.
1) How do i set a password for my wifi?
2) how do i keep my IP static.

1. In the netgear is a wireless setup page where you can set the wireless password. Do WPA/WPA2 and then set the password.

2. If you need a static IP for your computer use my tool
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-static-ip

If it is for your internet connection you have to buy one from your ISP.

Let me know your happy and I will lock this thread

2)The static ip is for my minecraft server. so would i have to buy one?

1. WPA-PSK[TKIP]+WPA-PSK[AES]

2. If you dont want your internet IP to change. But instead of buying a static IP get a free DDNS account.
