Finding a hidden IP for a secondary router.
« on: November 02, 2011, 05:47:53 PM »
I'm back, sorry I kind of ditched the last thread, like a year ago.

Anyway, I want to port forward for my PS3, but I'm behind 2 routers. I can find the IP for the Dlink router, but not for the secondary, which is a Vonage, and It's actually meant for a phone.

I just need to find the IP for the PS3 so I can port forward, thanks for the help.

If the D-Link is before the vonage then just have your PS3 hooked to the Dlink and then setup the port forwarding rule there

I can't just port forward for one of them, because the other will block the connection, that's what you helped me figure out before.

It should have it listed somewhere. Do you  have a status or WAN page?

No WAN page, the status page doesn't say anything about WAN.

IP address is right there. And it is your internet IP.

Perhaps I am confused. Is the vonage first then the router?

The hookup goes in this order: Computer>Dlink>Vonage>Modem

Ah!

Ok, log into the D link, find its WAN ip address and put it in the DMZ in the vonage.

Then setup any port forwarding rules in the D link

Alright, so here my problem now: I did what you said, DMZ is on the Vonage, and I port forwarded what I needed. However, it didn't fix the problem I was originally trying to overcome. I'm trying to forward ports for Blacks Ops to get rid of the strict NAT type. Once I do that, I can play Modern Warfare 3 without one.

I still have a strict NAT type, care to help?

Post a screen shot of the DMZ page in the vonage.

ANd make sure UPnP is on in the Dlink and DMZ is off in the dlink.
